Russia House wraps up first day of business programme in Davos

The Russia House in Davos has hosted the first business events of the official programme and been visited by more than 500 people. The guests of the Russia House include major businessmen and representatives of the expert community, who discussed global trends and strategic opportunities for Russian and international business.

One of the central events of the first day was the session ‘Russia and the Global Digital Agenda’, which was attended by Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov and key representatives of the industry. Discussions at the event focused on innovations in various sectors – from blockchain and fintech to cybersecurity and technologies for smart cities. “The digital economy is becoming one of the priority themes in the country’s development. We see our role in the development of the digital economy as supporting and developing the knowledge and technologies of our developers and companies,” Mr. Nikiforov said.

The Russia House has received positive feedback from its guests. ER-Telecom Holding President Andrey Kuzyaev had high praise for the project: “For the second year in a row, we are supporting The Roscongress Foundation’s initiative and taking part in the work of the Russia House in Davos. We are pleased to take part in a project that allows us to engage in an open dialogue with the international community and share experience and best practices with colleagues on ways to improve the investment climate and create favourable conditions for transforming Russia into a digital leader.”

The second day of work at the official Russian residence will start with a panel session on energy ‘Russian Competitiveness in the Global Energy Sector’, which will be attended by Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak. In addition, guests of the Russia House are eagerly awaiting the session dedicated to the 2018 World Cup.
