VINTEO videoconferencing solution works at SPIEF for the third year
VINTEO, a Russian video conferencing solution, was used to connect the speakers of the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) business program. The Roscongress Foundation uses VINTEO to conduct the Forum from 2021.
At SPIEF 2023, 33 conference rooms with online speaker connections were opened at the ExpoForum Exhibition and Convention Centre, each of which hosted two video conferences simultaneously. Over the entire period of the event, from June 14 to 17, more than 60 sessions of the business program were held on the VINTEO VCS platform, with more than 100 participants connected.
A system of video conference monitoring from all of the halls in the SPIEF-2023 central control room was used for the first time, making it possible to monitor the status of more than 60 online events on one screen. The monitoring system was developed by the organizer of the Forum on the basis of API of VINTEO VCS server.
Connections to VCS sessions at SPIEF-2023 were made through a specially designed web interface based on WebRTC technology (through a browser). Besides, several individual connections were made from classic video terminals by H.323 and SIP protocols. One of the advantages of VINTEO is the possibility of combining different types of connections into one conference.
Intellectual control of VINTEO layouts allowed the director of the event in every hall of the Forum to form the necessary layout of the conference at a certain moment dynamically - paying special attention to the speakers during their presentations (lecturer mode) or keeping the focus on all online participants at once.
Simultaneous interpreting function of VINTEO was traditionally used at SPIEF-2023: translations in two languages (Russian and English) were employed in the main conference halls, and Chinese, Portuguese, etc. were used in separate halls pointwise.
It was important this year that organizers of the Forum were able to integrate the work of an external simultaneous interpretation system with VINTEO video conferencing - this was easily accomplished thanks to special SIP clients, and in this case only VINTEO server audio licenses were used for video conferencing connections.
