Vladimir Putin Sends Greetings to SPIEF Participants

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to the participants and guests of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Putin noted that for more than two decades now the Forum has made a significant contribution in the search for answers to the key issues of our times and to creating a substantive and constructive agenda for broad international cooperation that aims to achieve sustainable and balanced development.

“We are all certainly interested in maintaining peace and security on the planet, in preserving and enhancing the cultural heritage of humanity, and in ensuring that citizens of all countries have the opportunity to realize their potential, obtain an education and decent work, and are confident in the future of their children. In order to meet these challenges, we need a strong and efficient economy, fair and transparent rules for global trade, a free exchange of investments and technologies, and healthy and fair competition. Russia is open to active and equal interaction with all states as well as regional and international organizations to ensure overall economic growth and the development of transport, energy, and telecommunications infrastructure, and to promote integration processes, including in the Eurasian and Asian-Pacific regions”, Putin said.

The Russian president also expressed confidence that the recommendations developed at the Forum and the agreements concluded there will serve to strengthen international partnership and build a prosperous future for the countries and peoples of the world.
