Attention to Health in SPIEF and EEF Programmes Discussed During Russia – Republic of Korea Dialogue Forum
On 9 December 2022, within the framework of the Media and Civil Society Working Group of the Dialogue Forum Russia – Republic of Korea, a workshop on ‘Science, Health and Media’ was organized by St. Petersburg State University. Dr. Guzel Ulumbekova, Rector of the Higher School of Health Care Organization and Management, gave a presentation entitled ‘The role of the medical elite in shaping public and government attitudes to health care’.
She noted that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum are examples of platforms where health problems and solutions are regularly discussed.
“Business platforms have begun to appear in Russia where one can boldly express one’s position on the most pressing issues and problems of modern healthcare. It is encouraging that Roscongress Foundation’s events allow direct dialogue not only with representatives of the authorities and the industry, but also with a wider audience: entrepreneurs, journalists, and opinion leaders. Such communication makes it possible to draw maximum attention to these problems and contribute to their resolution. I am sure that by involving more and more people in healthcare development issues, including through such authoritative platforms as SPIEF and EEF, together we can make medical care in Russia more accessible and improve its quality," stressed Guzel Ulumbekova.
Healthcare development issues are given special attention at the Roscongress Foundation’s business conventions and exhibitions. On the platform of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum, there is the Healthy Life Area, which has traditionally been an important part of the programme.
This project is a dedicated platform for direct dialogue at national and international level between representatives of the authorities and expert communities on the search for practical solutions to key issues in the field of healthcare. The project also takes an active position in social state policy and is an ideologist of the concept of forming a healthy society as a guideline for Russia’s development.
