The issue of solving the global food problem around the world is as serious as never before. The United Nations predicts that world population will reach 9.7 billion people by 2050. Radical changes are taking place in food production and logistics. How do we steer societies towards responsible and sensible consumption? Who can introduce biodegradable packaging and new storage methods? Will robotization in the industry improve the quality of services? What technologies will ensure food safety? Will alternative approaches to food change people's lives?

Kirill Kaem

Kirill Kaem, whose family have been doctors for no fewer than seven generations, graduated from the Kirov State Medical Academy in Nizhny Novgorod in 1992. Five years later he graduated with distinction from the economics department at the Lobachevsky State University, after successfully completing his studies in Russia and the USA on an MBA program run jointly with Taylor University. He has over 20 years' experience in senior management roles, including 15 years as a CEO at the corporation's various international branches. He specializes in launching start-ups in new regions and countries, and new business areas at major firms. From 1992 to 1994 he owned his own business, distributing medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. In 1995 Kirill Kaem set up a network of regional outlets for the Swedish company Oriflame in the Volga Region, which helped it become one of the region's biggest tax-payers. In the year 2000 he began working in Germany, in the central office of the company Varta. After Varta's merger with the American group Spectrum Brands, he spent eight years in overall charge of the company's operations in Russia. In 2008 he relaunched the German and American holding JAFRA International in Russia, improving profit margins by 40%. In 2009 he took control of the Russian holding Hygiene Kinetics, the biggest manufacturer in the market for domestic paper and cellulose products. Within two years the company's sales growth was several times higher than average growth in the sector, thanks to the introduction of new technologies. From 2011 to 2013 he headed up a new area of business at 'Alpha Group' - the biggest federal chain of clinics, 'Alpha Health Centre', where in the space of a year he managed to double revenue, whilst the chain itself saw profits rise by over a third. From 2013 onwards he has been a member of the Board of Directors and a co-founder of the international medical centre 'Medcluster', set up at the initiative of Sberbank in partnership with Strategy Group Partners, with Johns Hopkins Medicine International as a potential partner. From 2013-2017 he was director of the Skolkovo Foundation’s biomed cluster.

Dmitry Konyaev

Born in 1971, Mr Dmitry Konyaev graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University (Department of Economics), and he holds an MBA in Marketing from California State University Hayward.
Starting in 1998, he held a number of senior executive positions with major production and trading companies, including Sederrot International AB, Mineral Trading, Uralkali Trading SA (Singapore). In 2007-2011 he was the Commercial Director at URALCHEM. From 2011 to 2018, Mr Konyaev was the Chief Executive Officer at URALCHEM and a member of the Board of Directors at URALCHEM. Since 2018 – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at URALCHEM.
With almost two decades of expertise in the mineral fertilizers industry and a proven track record, Mr Konyaev is a member of Executive Board at IFA (International Fertilizer Association) and routinely named among the Russia’s «Top-1000 executives» by the Russian Managers Association.
Mr Konyaev is also a member of the Board of Directors of JSC Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers and is the Chairman of the Board of JSC «HaloPolymer» and SIA Riga Fertilizer Terminal.

Oksana Kuznetsova

Director, Federal Scientific Center for Food Systems named after V.M. Gorbatov of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Graduated from the Moscow State University of Applied Biotechnology, an engineer in the speciality “Standardization and certification” (2004). Doctor of technical sciences (2017). A specialist in the field of the systems of safety and quality management.
From 2017, an acting director of the V.M. Gorbatov Federal Research Center for Food Systems of Russian Academy of Sciences.
Among the main scientific results are the development of the methodology of analysis and prediction of the risks of the microbiological and chemical nature in food enterprises; the development of the tools for identification of hazardous chemical components, analysis and prediction of the sources of their introduction into the food chain, the development of the risk ranking systems that take into consideration the characteristics of the technological operations. Oksana A. Kuznetsova proposed the classification and methods for assessment of the efficiency of management actions directed at elimination or reduction of the chemical risk levels, as well as assessment of severity of consequences caused by the chemical hazardous components with consideration for human exposure. The results of the investigations formed the foundation for the methodological and regulatory documents in the field of meat product safety and quality assurance and were introduced in 26 enterprises.
A vice-chairman of the technical committee on standardization TC 226 “Meat and meat products”, a chairman of the technical committee on standardization TC 154 “Food additives, flavoring agents, edible salt”, and a member of the allied committees, a member of the expert groups of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, EEC, a member of the Dissertation Council, an expert of RAS, an academician of the International Academy of Refrigeration.
For the achievements in the field of scientific research, Oksana A. Kuznetsova was awarded with the personal prize named after V.M. Gorbatov (2006), Certificate of Honor of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (2010), the diploma of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2012), the Сommendation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (2015).
Oksana A. Kuznetsova has 90 scientific publications including 4 in foreign issues, 1 monograph.

Maxim Protasov

Head, Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo)

Born: 1972 in Moscow. Graduated from the Economics Faculty of Moscow State University and completed postgraduate research at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 1999 through 2005: member of the Supervisory Council of the National Securities Market Association, of the expert council of the Financial Markets Committee under the State Duma of the Russian Federation. 2011 through 2015: held the position of Chairman of the Management Board of the National Association of Producers and Suppliers of Foodstuffs Rusprodsoyuz. June 2015: appointed head of the Autonomous Non-commercial Organization Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), set up by Russian Government Directive. Is an active participant in many expert organisations, in particular Open Government, Expert Council of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, working group of the Public Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on foodstuff quality, member of the Commission for Supervising the Code of Fair Practices. Married with three children.
