Deputy Director of the Rossiya TV channel for special informational projects, President of the Bering-Bellingshausen Institute for Both Americas (Montevideo), member of the Praesidium of the Foreign and Defence Policy Council (Moscow), the only Russian journalist to have interviewed both the last two Presidents of the Russian Federation and the USA: Putin and Medvedev, Bush and Obama.
Born 24 July 1972 in Havana (Cuba).
Graduated from MGIMO MID RF (1995, Moscow), the Montevideo Institute of Foreign Languages (1991, Uruguay), and finished BBC courses (1995, London).
Career:
1990–1993: Komsomolskaya Pravda. Trainee, scholarship holder, correspondent-intern in the department of science and education.
1993–1995: Moscow News. International department special correspondent. In parallel, Moscow correspondent of the Uruguay El Observador Económico and the Argentinian La Razón, as well as Russian State Duma Latin America expert.
Since 1995: Rossiya (RTR) TV channel, including:
1995–1996: Vesti special correspondent (including during the First Chechen War).
1996–2001: Bureau Chief in London.
First broadcast as presenter on 11 September 2001 (day of the terrorist acts in the USA).
2001–2003: presenter of evening Vesti.
2003–2007: presenter of Vesti Nedeli, Deputy Director, Directorate of information programmes.
Since 2008: presenter of the Vesti on Saturday programme, Deputy Director of Rossiya TV channel.

One of the main spheres of his professional activity is interviewing heads of state. In particular, in Latin America: Chavez (Venezuela), Ortega (Nicaragua), Correa (Ecuador), Morales (Bolivia), Sanguinetti (Uruguay), Bachelet (Chile) and so on.
By order of the Russian President, awarded the Order of Friendship, the medals 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg and 1000th Anniversary of Kazan (2005). Was the finalist and winner of the TEFI awards many times.

Alexey Likhachev

Alexey Likhachev is Director General of ROSATOM. He assumed office in October 2016. Mr. Likhachev has since been responsible for overseeing the entire spectrum of the state corporation’s activities.
Before joining ROSATOM, Mr. Likhachev worked in the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, where he held a wide variety of leadership positions. He joined the ministry in 2007. He worked as an advisor to the Minister of Economic Development until 2008, in 2010 he was appointed Deputy Minister, and in February 2015 he was promoted to the position of First Deputy Minister of Economic Development.
Throughout his career, Mr. Likhachev held senior positions in other governmental bodies and public organizations as well. He was a member of the State Duma (the lower house of Russia’s parliamentary body), serving as Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economic Policy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (2000-2007). Previously, he worked as managing director of Social Industrial Insurance Company ‘Aval’ in Nizhniy Novgorod (1992-2000).
Mr. Likhachev graduated from Gorky State University and started his career as an engineer in the Gorky Research Institute of Instrumentation (1985-1987). In 1998 he graduated from the Economic Faculty of Nizhniy Novgorod State University with a Ph.D. in economics.

Graduated from the Gergely Czuczor Benedictine High School of Győr in 1997, subsequently he conferred his degree in the faculty of Foreign Affairs at the University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration in 2002 in Budapest.
Has been Member of Parliament for Fidesz since 2002, having started his sixth term in 2022.
Communications Director of Fidesz between 2006 and 2010. Prime Minister’s Spokesperson between 2010 and 2012 and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations between 2012 and 2014.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade between June and September, 2014 then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary since 23th September, 2014.
Is a practising Roman Catholic, married with two sons. He was a registered futsal player, having played two games in 1st league and eighty-five in 2nd league between 2011 and 2016.

During the last 3.5 years Pavel Sorokin worked for Morgan Stanley as the Russian Oil & Gas sector lead and Vice President. In 2014-2015 he was ranked one of the best oil & gas sector analysts in Russia and EMEA in Extel and Institutional Investor. Pavel also used to work at Alfa-bank and Unicredit investment banking divisions and had Senior Accountant experience covering Oil & Gas sector at Ernst & Yong. Pavel headed the Ministry of Energy’s “Energy Research Center” at the Russian Energy Agency which provides in-house research and advice to the Ministry of Energy. From March 2018 he was appointed Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation.
