Russia's Labour Market: The State of Labour Potential and Mechanisms of Its Development

16 Jun , 10:30–11:30
The Labour Market: A Response to the New Challenges
Pavilion G, conference hall G3

The current conditions, including sanctions pressure and the special military operation, combined with the current demographic and migration circumstances, are having a direct impact on Russia's labour market. The emergence of new employment opportunities through remote work and online platforms are also further influencing the landscape. Record-low unemployment has led to a highly competitive job market, where employers are forced to compete for labour resources. Employers are already seeing staff shortages, but are they prepared for the current conditions? How can the education system be adapted to align with the skills in demand within the economy? During the session, participants will discuss what changes are in store for the labour market in the future. How should employers and job seekers adapt to these evolving challenges? Can labour migrants contribute to addressing the workforce demand? Will the unmet labour demand become a growth driver for the prosperity of citizens? What state regulations and incentives should be implemented to address these issues effectively?
