The situation on global markets, the geopolitical environment, and the media are putting serious pressure on Western companies that work in Russia. It is of paramount importance for Western investors and the Russian Federation to establish an open, friendly dialogue and look for accessible ways to interact and cooperate. In this regard, discussions about the social responsibility of Western business, including retaining jobs, as well as the fulfillment of companies’ obligations in economic and environmental matters are particularly valuable in normalizing conditions for companies to function normally in Russia. Western investors that continue to work in Russia, along with Russian business, need the government to engage in systemic work with companies as well as long-term support programmes and further measures to improve economic stability given the current external and internal shocks.

Pavel Shinsky

Pavel Shinsky was born in 1974 in Moscow.
Pavel is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Superieure (Fontenay-Saint-Cloud), specialising in the Russian language, as well as the political and cultural history of the Soviet Union.
1999 to 2007: research lecturer at different institutions of higher and secondary learning in France (Charles De Gaulle University – Lille III and Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne universities).
2003 to 2007: trained the top management of companies operating in Russia and/or conducted negotiations with Russian partners (preparing for talks, thematic research, simulation of various situations, etc.).
In charge of the Russian series Domain Rus at the Parisian publishing house Le Cherche-Midi éditeur, created in 2000.
Author of a dozen articles and two monographs (Stalin: Unpublished Archives 1926–1936 [1] published by Berg International in 2001 and Microhistory of Big Terror: the Factory of Guiltiness in Stalin’s Era [2] published by Denoël in 2005).
June 1, 2007: appointed Director General of the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Russie).
February 1, 2014: at the 12th Congress of Russian Chess Players, elected one of the five vice-presidents of the Russian Chess Federation (RCF).
October 15, 2015: in recognition of his efforts to strengthen economic relations between Russia and the West in general and France in particular, received a Letter of Appreciation from Russian President Vladimir Putin “for contributing to the socioeconomic development of the Russian Federation, successful labour, active public activities and many years of conscientious work” [3].
As Director of CCI France Russie, has spoken repeatedly against the sanctions imposed in 2014 in the wake of the Ukrainian crisis.
On the eve of voting at the National Assembly of France, which stood for the repeal of the sanctions, CCI France Russie personally requested each of the 577 deputies to support the given resolution.
The mission of CCI France Russie is to consolidate economic and trade relations between France and Russia by encouraging two-way investment flows, facilitating constructive dialogue and better understanding of the French and Russian realities.
May 25, 2016: the economics experts of CCI France Russie met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin to discuss the economic and trade ties between France and Russia.

Emmanuel Quidet

President, French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Emmanuel Quidet graduated from the European Business School in Paris in 1985 and began his career in the French office of EY. Before joining the EY CIS in 1994, he worked eight years in Paris and one year in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. For more than two years during his work in Paris, he managed the company's operations in Africa and the Middle East.
Emmanuel is an audit partner at the French Business Center of EY CIS in Moscow. He is in charge of one of the most important Russian clients in the Moscow office.
In 1997, he co-founded the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which he heads since 2007.
He also co-founded ‘Le Courrier de Russie’, a French-language newspaper which is published fortnightly in Russia with a circulation of 25,000 copies.
In addition, he is one of the founders of Samusocial Moskva (2004), which is headed by Dr. Xavier Emmanuelli and Professor Leonid Roshal.
In 2012, he was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor.
In 2015, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov awarded him a Badge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation "For Contribution to International Cooperation".

Vladimir Padalko is an entrepreneur and formerly a USSR overseas trade specialist.
He has a diploma in Economics and is fluent in several foreign languages.
His main focus is foreign trade with countries in East Asia.
In 1990-s Vladimir Padalko was one of Russia’s pioneers in China and Hong Kong markets.
He got his second degree in Beijing.
Joined Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 1995. Between 1996–2012, Vladimir Padalko represented RCIC abroad a number of times, including his position of the Head of RCIC regional office in East Asia.
He has been actively creating common economic space between Russia and the countries of Central Asia and the Pacific Rim. Represented RCIC in intergovernmental commissions with Asian countries, as well as expert councils of international entrepreneurial organizations.
Joined RCIC top management in July 2012.

Vincenzo Trani

President, Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce

Vincenzo Trani, President of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, is an Italian entrepreneur based in Russia for over 20 years, he has been leading a financial company leader in microfinance investing in countries along the Silk Road for over 10 years.
He moved to Russia at the end of the 1990s to work for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and has worked continuously in the same market from that time onwards. He directed development initiatives on behalf of important private banks and industrial groups for eight years.
He gained official recognition in Russia as the initiator of some of the most important projects for small and medium-sized businesses. He founded General Invest in 2007 and in 2008 Mikro Kapital, a microfinance fund for financing small and medium businesses which have established itself as one of the most successful such initiatives at a European level. In 2015 he founded Delimobil, the first carsharing operator launched in Russia and currently the only nationwide operator leader in terms of the fleet.

Robert Agee

President, Chief Executive Officer, American Chamber of Commerce in Russia

Robert Agee, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, comes to this role with substantial proven experience in the Russian market. Robert has a track record of more than 30 years of innovative leadership in the technology sector, and he has also worked with a number of small and medium-sized businesses.

Robert has played a key role in Cisco’s success in Russia. Leading the company in 1997-2009, he established Cisco as a key player in Russia and in the ICT industry. Prior to joining Cisco, Robert was the General Manager of Xerox Corporation for the CIS from 1991 to 1996. Robert was a Senior Vice President and Adviser to RTEC, Russia's first company specializing in the manufacturing and development of world-class trusted telecommunications equipment. In addition to his work at RTEC, Robert also served on the boards of MobileAccess (USA), Le Pain Quotidien Russia and H2oil Russia.

Robert is well-acquainted with AmCham Russia and has already taken an active part in its operations: he was twice elected as a member of the AmCham Board of Directors and has served on its Executive Committee. In 2004, he received the Darin Russian National Award of the Russian academy of business and entrepreneurship for his contribution to the international development and integration.
