Achieving sustainable development goals, such as including providing decent employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth, reducing inequality, eliminating hunger and poverty, combating climate change, protecting environment and water, promoting affordable clean energy and quality education are a mainstay at the world's leading discussion platforms. To some extent most of the sustainable development goals and objectives are already included in the main strategic documents and programmes of most states. Within the context of the new economic and geopolitical reality the global community faces new challenges in achieving the SDGs. It is fundamentally important for the Russian Federation to maintain the set course and commitments undertaken for the benefit of future generations. What are the results of the Russian Federation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals? How will the current economic and geopolitical situation affect the achievement of the SDGs by 2030 and what financial resources will be required for this? What are the roles of government, business, scientific and civil communities in achieving the SDGs, and how to organize their effective collaboration? How to build a 'green' future for the Russian Federation in the new economic and political conditions, and does the climate agenda have a place in them? Financing of sustainable development: how to launch investment mechanisms under the conditions of rethinking economic models, including at the regional level? What role does the banking sector play in implementing measures to achieve the SDGs?

Andrei Bougrov is a Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of MMC Norilsk Nickel and Member of its Management Board. He also served as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of MMC Norilsk Nickel and was Senior Managing Director of Interros Holding Company. Prior to that in 1993-2002 Mr. Bougrov was Russia’s Principal Resident Representative and Executive Director at the World Bank. Before joining the World Bank Mr. Bougrov was a senior staff member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.
He received a BA and a Master’s Degree with first class honors from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations, completed post-graduate studies and received a Ph.D. in economics.

Mr. Dolgov was born in 1968.

April 2011 — Commissioner of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights, Democracy and the Supremacy of Law and Ambassador at Large.
November 2011—October 2013 — Co-Chairman of the Working Group on Civil Society of the Russian-American Presidential Commission.
Mr. Dolgov is a member of the Coordinating Council of the Chairman of the Federation Council for Interaction with Civil Society Institutions, the Expert Council under the Commissioner of the Russian President for Child Rights, the Working Group under the Federation Council in charge of verifying the observance of the constitutional rights of Russian citizens to the inviolability of private life as well as personal and family privacy when processing personal data.
In 2013, he was nominated by the Russian Federation as a candidate for the post of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.
As of 24 November 2014, he has been a member of the Coordinating Council under the Russian President for the National Action Strategy for Children in 2012—2017.

Dr. Sc. (economics), Professor, Full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Dr. Porfiriev was born in 1955 in Moscow. The 1977 cum laude graduate of the Moscow State University. Since that time has been working in the institutes of the former USSR (now Russian) Academy of Sciences, or RAS; from 2010 to currently in the RAS Institute for Economic Forecasting. Since 2018 he is the Director of the Institute and the head of Laboratory for analysis and forecasting of the natural and technological risks to economic development.
Dr. Porfiriev received PhD (1981) and Doctor of Science (1990) both in economics, and Professor (management) in 1996. Elected the RAS Corresponding member in 2011 and the RAS Full member in 2016.
Research and teaching areas include: analysis, forecasting and policy decision making in crisis situations, economics and management of natural and technological hazards, including those posed by climate change. In the areas above he has been writing extensively both in Russia and abroad making over 300 contributions including some 80 books and papers published in the peer-reviewed international journals and by the US, European, Australian and China publishers.
Dr. Porfiriev is a member of the RAS Presidium, the RAS Research Council on Environmental Issues, Council of Experts of the EMERCOM of Russia. In 2002-2006 he was elected and served a vice-president and in 2011-2015 the first vice-president of the International Research Committee for Disasters of the International Sociological Association. He is a laureate of the 2005 EMERCOM research and technological award and the 2009 E. Varga RAS award for outstanding research on the world economy issues (for the monograph “Economics of Climate Change”. Moscow, 2008).
