University between Global Challenges and Local Commitments: Life after the Pandemic

05 Jun , 08:30–09:30
Qatar Pavilion, Doha Hall
Educational business breakfast (by invitation only)

The pandemic has made its own adjustments to the work of the higher education system around the world. Most recently, all universities were completely closed, but now students in many countries have again crossed the thresholds of their universities. However, higher education is now facing its consequences and universities are faced with the challenge of making sense of the new environment. The growing inequality of access to quality education, the funding crisis and shrinking budgets, the digital divide, changes in teaching staff and unemployment among graduates are becoming paramount for many universities.
During the breakfast heads of Qatari and Russian universities, as well as leaders of Qatari public funds, will exchange experience in overcoming the most acute problems for each country that have arisen in the scientific and educational ecosystems of both countries over the past couple of years. Representatives of the countries will discuss changes in higher education systems in Qatar and Russia as well as the strengths and weaknesses of education that have been revealed by the pandemic on the national level.
