The world today cannot be imagined without digital technologies. The economy needs specialists who can use them for making enterprises more efficient, improving the quality of life, create new services and whole industries. It is not a matter of just future IT industry specialists: medical professionals, teachers, pilots, everyone needs digital competencies to work in the digital economy. An IT education should begin in school and continue into higher education and even beyond: any specialist needs to update their knowledge and skills regularly. Technologies are taking giant steps forward and the fashionable new lifelong learning concept is vital. Yet technology training is impossible without those who carry the knowledge and skills, without the experience of those who are always at the forefront of development of these technologies: without representatives of the IT industry. So a symbiosis of the education system and industry is the most efficient way to achieve the set goals, all that is left to do is organize co-operation on this issue between the state and businesses. It is also important that the education system itself change: technological development, catalysed by the pandemic, led to broad use of digital technologies in the educational process, this also being a potential growth point.
- What skills and specializations are needed by big tech companies? What is needed to launch a career in IT?
- Which early personnel training projects exist at the moment? How does the government support IT company initiatives?
- How can additional education be optimized to help an adolescent choose a suitable profession and prepare them for further career growth? What are the criteria for assessing the effectiveness of additional education?
- What future lies before digital technologies, which specializations will take shape and how can today’s school pupil be helped to prepare for the future?
- Can personnel from another sphere by trained to make a painless transition to IT? Or is it more efficient to train from scratch? How much time is need to train a beginner and find them a job?
