New masterplans of cities - how to implement
A master plan is a strategic document for urban and regional development.
In the Russian Federation, there is not a single settlement that has not considered developing its own master plan document. Some advanced regions have not only developed but also started implementing their plans. In this context, the Far East has been at the forefront of urban development. Twenty-five master plans for Far Eastern cities have already been developed and approved personally by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. Implementation of these plans has begun. By Vladimir Putin’s order, a programme for developing 200 master plans for cities will commence in Russia, covering over 2,000 settlements.
During the business discussion, we will discuss:
What priorities emerge when developing master plans and mechanisms for attracting non-budgetary funds?
What is needed to create unified requirements for the strategic development document of a territory?
In which areas can Russia demonstrate leadership in urban economy planning and management on an international level?
How should a city’s master plan become a tool for investment attraction and infrastructure renewal?
