Qatar is one of the mostwealthy and important economies in the MENA region. The resilient and robust economy is built on strong fundamentals and wise and far sightedness of the leadership of the country. Over the past decade, Qatar has made major strides in transforming the economy through effective set of policies, development mandates and institutions to enable sustainable growth. Qatar has an ambitious and long-term development plan under the National Vision 2030 to develop multiple complementary growth engines that are value-adding, knowledge based and sustainable through creating a productive and effective business environment for private sector growth, continuing targeted investments in economic infrastructure, human capital, digital ecosystem, and core institutions and add value to the global economy in a sustainable way.The presentation will provide insights about Qatar economyforawide audiencein three parts: First part will cover recent macroeconomic developments, resilience of economy against the shocks caused by pandemic and oil price fluctuations, andeconomicoutlook. Second part of the presentation will focus on structural strengths including competitiveness, infrastructure, and social indicators. Third part of the presentation will provide insights about the recent reforms and improvements in the investment and doing business environment to sustain the long term competitiveness of Qatar economy.
