The Chelyabinsk Region is one of the largest, dynamically developing economic centers of the Russian Federation, ranks 9th most populous and 11th in terms of GRP. Region's economy is based on metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and agribusiness. The fuel and energy complex, construction, tourism, and modern high-tech sectors of the economy are actively developing.
The region is favorably located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, the Urals and Siberia, and borders with Kazakhstan. Two region’s largest cities are Chelyabinsk and Magniogorsk, each has its own airport, and in just over two hours you can reach Moscow.
The region has 5 advanced development territories, 4 accredited industrial parks with preferential taxation. The development of SEZ "Yuzhnouralskaya" is underway. Enterprises of different scale are actively involved in cooperative chains, creating a high demand for industrial products.
