The coming decades will be an era of unprecedented change in the world of education. A new global education architecture will emerge. The convergence of academic and technological environments, opportunities for mixed forms of training, and earlier vocational orientation towards new industries are just some of the trends shaping the future of education. A significant number of the breakthrough solutions in this area are being provided not by traditional academic institutions, but instead by new players on the education market: finance and technology companies, scientific associations, and exciting private initiatives. A new transnational market is taking shape, and may soon enough become a notable competitor to traditional educational institutions, transforming education markets and changing the rules of the game. What will education look like in 5–10 years’ time? How will new technologies transform traditional formats? How much will the role of business in the development of this sector grow?

Ekaterina Cherkes-zade is a head of a consortium of educational institutions representing first-class education in the creative industries sphere (The British Higher School of Art and Design, the Moscow Film School, Scream School and the Moscow Architectural School MARCH). Graduated from Moscow State University of Printing Arts (the faculty for publishing and journalism), and International Visitor Leadership Program from Graduate School USA. Worked on various projects in the media and publishing industries. Since 2009 Ekaterina Cherkes-zade has engaged in the education in the field of creative industries.

Anastasia Butrym

Director, British Higher School of Art and Design

Anastasia Butrym has extensive experience in management as well as comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of business and creative industries. Throughout her longstanding career in advertising Anastasia has worked as Managing Director of the advertising agency TBWA Russia (EMCG), Managing and Strategic Director of the branding agency TANGO (TBWA Group), CEO and owner of the advertising agency 3SBA. From August 2014 Anastasia has been employed as Director of British higher School of Art&Design and has been overseeing the School's strategic development, production and launch of new study programmes and management of all administrative and technical resources.

Svetlana Efremova

Professor, Head of Acting Program, California State University, Fullerton; Actress

Svetlana Efremova is a well-established Actress and a Professor at the California State University, Fullerton. For the past seventeen years she has served as a Head of Acting for both the Undergraduate and Graduate Acting programs, as well as Master Acting Teacher within the Department. She is trained by two of the most world-renowned theatre schools: the Yale School of Drama, where she earned an MFA degree in Acting and the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre, where she received my BFA in Acting. She has conducted master classes all over the United States. Her workshops have received overwhelmingly positive responses from both national and international theatre schools and conferences such as the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Los Angeles), California Educational Theatre Association, Bennington College, Miami University, and Bowling Green University, Moscow Film school Cinemotion. In addition to teaching, she also has a successful and current acting career. In theatre, her credits range from Broadway to some of the finest regional companies in the US such as Yale Repertory Theatre, South Coast Repertory Theatre. She’s done over 36 feature films and television appearances with major Hollywood studios. Her performance was reviewed in several regional newspapers and national theatrical trade publications, including the LA Times, OC Register, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Back Stage, New York Times, the premiere stage periodical “American Theatre”. Her film and television credits include White Oleander, Phone Booth, The Island, Spinning Boris, K-19, Stick It, Older Son, Killer by Nature, Shameless, Closer, Motive, Work It, Body of Proof, The Whole Truth, Untitled, Dirt, West Wing, Monk, ER, Practice, Cold Case, Without A Trace, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Strong Medicine, Judging Amy, Joan of Arcadia, The Guardian, Spiral, The Prince of Central Park, Gideon’s Crossing. Svetlana was honored with Yale University’s Herschel Williams Award and the Award for Best Actress at the Prague International Festival. She is a member in good standing of SAG, AFTRA, and Actors' Equity Association. In 2003 and 2013 she was honored to receive an outstanding faculty recognition award for my scholarship and creative activities.

Mikhail Kazinik

Violinist, Lecturer of Music, Art Historian, Poet

Michail Kazinik Member of the European Slavic Academy of Literature and Arts. Vice-president of the International Association of Literature and Arts (MAPP) School of the Future concept developer. School of associative reasoning and integrated holistic classes. Shot 56 films about art in Igor Shadkhan’s studio (shown on TVC channel) Hosted more than 300 conferences on art for top managers of all Scandinavian countries and Russia. Book author (including the bestseller “Secrets of Geniuses” published in 14 editions). TV and radio host (more than 1500 radio shows, including radio Orpheus, Silver Rain, Voice of Russia, as well as Chicago radio station United4good). Supporter of radical reform of the entire education system. He has lectured in many countries most of which are post-Soviet. Visiting professor at Berkley (Boston), Drama Institute (Stockholm), Princeton and other universities.

Lueny Morell

Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Lueny Morell & Associates; Director, InnovaHiEd

Principal of Lueny Morell & Associates and Director of InnovaHiED, a world-class team of experts with extensive academic and industry experience offering services to help higher education leaders in transforming their institutions to better respond to their stakeholders’ needs and the socioeconomic development challenges they face. Co-founder of NEU, a novel platform to teach engineering in Silicon Valley, California, she was part of HP Labs Strategy, Open Innovation and University Relations team and full professor of Chemical Engineering University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, where she had various academic and administrative positions. She is an IEEE Senior Member, an ASEE Fellow and ABET Program Evaluator and has received various awards for her work, including the prestigious US NAE Gordon Prize for innovations in engineering education in 2006. Lueny is passionate about engineering education and innovation as fundamental pillars for economic and social well-being. She is co-founder of IFEES, GEDC and SPEED, and has served as president of IFEES.

Mats Nordlund

Director, Innovation Advisory Partners

Mats Nordlund has a unique background from executive positions in academia and industry in Europe, USA, and Russia. In his academic leadership roles he has managed innovative educational programs, designed new doctoral programs, developed research policy at the EU level and facilitated the renewal of existing academic programs. In the 1990s, he launched and managed the System Design and Management (SDM) program at MIT. He spent 15 years in industry, first as director of corporate technology strategy and acquisition at Saab AB, a major aerospace company, and later as Director of Research and Development for Emerson Process Management – Level and Marine. While in industry, Dr. Nordlund has provided important contributions to the development of industry/university partnerships, as well as research policy formation and execution. Dr. Nordlund recently served three years as Vice President of Research Programs at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow.

Dmitry Peskov

Director, Young Professionals Department, Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (Agency for Strategic Initiatives)

Dmitry Peskov was born in Voronezh in 1975. In 1998 graduated from Voronezh State University. In 1999 received an MA in political science from the University of Manchester. Since 2000 worked at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, was responsible for university development strategy. Left the university at the position of the Innovations Director, Deputy Vice-President on science. In 2008 created Metaver, a company that designs new education forms on the suture of education and venture economics. In 2009 became head of Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. In 2011 became the Director on Young Professionals Direction at Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Member-Expert Council of Government of Russia. Member of the board of trustees of the agency on professional development WorldSkills Russia. Member of the council of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on development of young, innovative and small entrepreneurial activity. Head of the work group on Best Professional Practices Support at the Presidential Professional Qualifications Council. Member of the commission on 2020 Innovation Strategy implementation. He is on the Board of Directors at Aeroflot-Russian Airlines PJSC, RVK PSC, boards of trustees for Saint Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics and Support Foundation for Visually and Hearing Impaired. Holds various state awards, including the Order ”For Merit to the Fatherland”, 2nd Degree.

Sergey Solonin

General Director, FINTECH Association

Sergey Solonin was born on November 28, 1973 in Moscow. Currently he holds positions of CEO of The FinTech Association, co-head of the working group FINNET (Agency for Strategic Initiatives), CEO of QIWI Group. Mr. Solonin has been actively participating in the financial and technological development of Russia, occupying key positions in organizations whose activities are aimed at creating and maintaining a high-tech environment for the functioning of business and government institutions. Also his activity focuses on the development of new educational initiatives and institutions in Russia, providing systematic investment support for federal projects in the development of modern alternative education. For example, Mr. Solonin is a co-investor of the Creative Thinking School of ICRA, the British Higher School of Design, the Moscow Film School, the School of computer technologies — Scream School, the MARCH Architectural School, and the founder of the Center for the Promotion of Innovations in Education. Education: 1996 - Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation, majoring in Finance and Credit. 2012 - certificate of completion of the Stanford Executive Program. Career: 1998 - Chairman of the Board of Directors, shareholder of the Investment and Banking Group "Russian Investment Club". 2004 to present - shareholder, member of the Board of Directors of QIWI Group. 2012 to present - CEO of QIWI Group, shareholder. 2017 to present - General Director of the FinTech Association. He is married with 5 children.
