06 Jun , 18:00–22:00
Petrovsky Stadium, St. Petersburg

The International Youth Football Tournament among junior teams in memory of FIFA First Vice President Valentin Granatkin was first held in 1981 in Moscow, but moved to St. Petersburg (Leningrad) in 1983 and has become firmly entrenched there. This year, twelve junior national teams with players born in 2001 will compete in the traditional junior competitions, including the Russian junior national team, which is currently preparing for the first qualifying round of the 2020 U-19 European Championship (13–19 November, Wales). The team, which is led by Alexander Kerzhakov, the top scorer in the history of FC Zenit St. Petersburg and the Russian national team, will play with Bulgaria in the second round of the Granatkin Memorial group stage on 6 June. The Russian team will also play India and Moldova in its quest to punch a ticket to the playoffs.
The game against the Bulgarians will take place at the legendary Petrovsky Stadium, which opened way back in 1925. Current Russian champion FC Zenit previously played its home games at this stadium, which is located on Petrovsky Island. The Russian national team has also played numerous matches at Petrovsky.
