In 2024, the number of agricultural universities in the federal programmes of the Ministry of Education and Science ‘Priority 2030’ and ‘Advanced Engineering Schools’ increased to 11. The new participants of the programme are Belgorod State Agricultural University named after V. Gorin, Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K. I. Skryabin, and Bashkir State Agrarian University. The projects of these and other participants are aimed to develop food crop breeding, farm animal genetics, and digital technologies necessary to ensure food security and technological sovereignty of the country. At the same time, effective implementation of strategic tasks takes looking at the tasks of agrarian education from a new perspective. How can one improve interaction with talented students and attract them to agricultural universities? What motivational programmes can be developed for schoolchildren, students and young graduates? What tools can be developed to make the ‘from school to career’ concept accessible to all industry players?
