Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin to discuss investment opportunities in Russian production at Russia House in Davos

On 25 January, as part of the Russia House in Davos business programme, Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin will take part in a panel discussion ‘Russia: New Production Hub’.

Financial centres of many countries have already set their eyes on Russian regions and are successfully implementing strategic investment projects there. The open-doors policy pursued by the authorities is focused on supporting and developing business, training qualified personnel, expanding inter-regional and international ties and, consequently, creating a favourable investment climate in Russia. “A convenient investment climate should obviously be created for the final user – the businessman, whose opinion is central to forming a working system geared to attracting investment, creating a convenient business climate and the preconditions for setting up any production units in our country”, Oreshkin noted.

The Government’s priority is undoubtedly to improve the investment climate of the Russian regions and, as a result, grow investments. The discussants will focus on ways to fulfil these tasks within the scope of the set goal under today’s conditions, as well as discuss the competences of regional business associations, lines of work with investors in priority branches of industry and examples of successful investment. President of ER-Telecom Holding Andrey Kuzyaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Machines Corporation Siegfried Wolf, Chairman of the Management Board of SIBUR Holding Dmitriy Konov and others will take part in the sessions.
