Tourism and recreation cluster ‘Kronstadt. Forts Island’ is the flagship project to be presented at the St. Petersburg stand at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Kronstadt is perceived as the world's largest island museum dedicated to Naval history. Tourist routes dedicated to the great battles and commanders, ships and marine officers will run through the historic park. The Russian Geographical Society will contribute to a trail dedicated to important geographical discoveries. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to include the project in the Federal Targeted Programme ‘Developing Domestic and Inbound Tourism in Russia’. Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation endorses this programme in restoring federal cultural heritage sites such as Peter I Fort, Fort Alexander, and Kronslot, mooring berth in the coastal harbour. At that, private investments will finance the bulk of the project.

An exclusive cruise line will open on 3 June. “We have restored the historic route and are working on a pilot raid of ice-class river yachts, including sightseeing and show program dedicated to setting up a naval base on Kotlin Island. At present, we are preparing to hold several events in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt. To this effect, in June the Butterfly will take passengers on a cruise from the Makarov Embankment to Kronstadt through the Kronstadt main ship channel around the Fort Alexander, Fort Kronslot and back. I am confident that this cruise will be a highlight of the SPIEF 2019 Culture Programme. We look forward to welcoming all Forum guests and participants to the cruise,” commented Vyacheslav Krylov, General Director of ANO Ostrov Fortov.

There will be two cruises per day, the basic non-stop cruise and an alternative cruise disembarking passengers on the Summer Pier in Kronstadt. The central boarding pier will be located on the Makarov embankment in St. Petersburg.
