Business Programme of Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona to Include Several Special Sessions

The business programme of the 12th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona in 2019 will be expanded with a series of special sessions devoted to specific issues on the global agenda. They will be held in parallel with the plenary sessions for the second time.

In particular, a session during which social inequality will be considered as one of the causes of the current global crisis has been included in the Forum programme. The session will be hosted by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation together with the Innosocium Foundation – the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation. The participants will analyse problems involving economic and social inequality around the world and its impact on the emergence of crises in society and also discuss ways to integrate individuals into the global system. The session will be attended by representatives of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the scientific community, experts, and philanthropists.

At the special session ‘Uzbekistan and Italy: Major Projects’, speakers will present the former’s ambitious development plans and investment projects that open up prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy. The session, which will be moderated by former Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan (2011–2016) Riccardo Manara, will be attended by Uzbek Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, President of the Italian-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Luigi Iperti, and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov, among others.

A separate session will be devoted to preparations for the INNOPROM international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg at which Italy will serve as a partner country. Opening addresses will be delivered by Sverdlovsk Region First Deputy Governor Alexey Orlov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to the Russian Federation Pasquale Terracciano.

Another session will be devoted to the role of new technologies in the sustainable energy and transport development of Moscow during which Minister of the Moscow Government Sergey Cheryomin will speak along with others. The session participants will discuss Moscow’s transition to eco-friendly modes of transport.

This part of the programme will also include a presentation of the industrial and investment potential of the Orenburg Region that will be attended by Orenburg Region Minister of Economic Development, Industrial Policy, and Trade Natalya Struntsova as well as representatives of the region’s industrial, agricultural, and service enterprises.
