Holding tournaments to celebrate honoured sportspeople who have played a significant role in the development of their sport is an important way of strengthening traditions.
The project is supported by the Russian Yachting Federation, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Centre for Sports Training of the Russian National Teams.
The Igor Chentsov Regatta

The country’s toughest yachtsmen and women will take part in a Regatta named after Igor Chentsov, Chairman of the Presidium of the All-Russian Sailing Federation. Viktoria Liksanova, winner several times over of the Russian Sailing Championship and winner of the Spartakiad games, Dmitry Berezin, European champion, and other leaders from the Russian national team will get on their marks. The racers will travel more than 1,000 kilometres along the roads of the Leningrad Region and the Republic of Karelia, surrounded by the natural beauty and historical monuments of Lake Ladoga. The final stage will take place in St. Petersburg, on the last day of SPIEF.
The first test race was a successful example of communication with other countries. Athletes from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the United Arab Emirates took part. This year’s Ladoga Gold will reach new heights: the cycling race will become a platform for expanding international sports interaction and an opportunity for a wider audience to learn more about the Leningrad Region and Karelia.
Ladoga Gold is organized by the Russian Cycling Federation and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Centre for Sports Training of the Russian National Teams.

There will be two categories of winners: experienced chess players and amateurs. The tournaments will be played under the Swiss system in seven rounds. The time control for a game is 5 minutes + 3 seconds per move.
The tournament has been organized by RC Sport, the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation, the St. Petersburg Chess Federation, and the Professor Freud private club.

Hockey at SPIEF is always a thrilling game, a storm of emotions and breathtaking suspense.
For the second year in a row, the Roscongress Cup tournament will be held as part of the Forum. Traditionally, teams of politicians and businesspeople, reinforced by hockey legends and other sporting stars, will take to the ice. The Champion team, picked from the sports and business community supported by the Roscongress Foundation, for successful people from different areas of life, will be a serious adversary for them. It should be noted that ahead of the SPIEF tournament, the Champion team successfully debuted in the Media Hockey League.
Participants need to register ahead of the event in order to take part, and may do that via the personal web office after 30 April 2024.

The second ceremony promises to be no less high-profile. It will be in the style of ‘thea-jazz’, jazz concerts with elements of theatre, invented in the 1920s by singer Leonid Utesov. The aesthetics of this trend, which continued through the 1930s, accompanied the birth of the Soviet national sporting system. It was then that the foundation was laid for the triumphant appearance of Soviet athletes in the international arena after the Great Patriotic War (World War II). It was also during the era of ‘thea-jazz’ that the nation’s industrial giants, which played a key role in boosting Soviet sport, emerged.
The Champion Sports and Business Awards

The idea behind this award is that sporting heroes honour business leaders for their support of the industry at SPIEF, the main business event of the year. ‘Towards the Friendship Games’ run
As is tradition, a run will open the first day of the Forum’s main programme. This year it will be dedicated to the World Friendship Games.
Early in the morning, participants of the Forum and city residents will run 5 km through the historical centre of St. Petersburg, in support of the global project that Russia is offering to world sport.
The route will pass through the centre of St. Petersburg.

This year, the Roscongress White Nights Tennis Cup tournament will be held for the 30th time. Players and guests of the tournament may enjoy exciting battles on the tennis courts, the atmosphere of an elegant picnic on the shore of the picturesque Lake Razliv, live music, and meeting new people.
The tournament will be held in doubles in two stages: round-robin, semi-finals, and finals.

Corporate teams, including a crew from the Roscongress Foundation, will take part in the two-day race, sailing on J/70 class yachts.
Anyone, with any level of training, will be able to take part in the regatta and sail a challenging route under the guidance of experienced skippers.
In addition to the competition, the Vedomosti business publication, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will offer participants a special St. Petersburg onshore programme at the Smolenka Yachting Port, which is located on Vasilyevsky Island.
