Foreign Investment Advisory Council members invited to participate in SPIEF 2019

Today, the 32nd meeting of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council in Russia was held under the leadership of Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov, Minister for Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin, Minister of Transport Yevgeny Ditrikh, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Dmitry Kobylkin, Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, Minister of Digital Development, Communications, and Media Konstantin Noskov, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Construction, Housing, and Utilities Vladimir Yakushev, and coordinator of foreign participants of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council in Russia Mark Weinberger, as well as heads of foreign companies and organizations which are members of the council.

At the meeting, various problems and proposals by companies to simplify administrative procedures affecting various sectors of the economy, including in the areas of digitalization of the economy, improving tax and customs legislation and administration, developing the consumer market and technical regulation, localization and regional development, and health care and pharmaceuticals were discussed.

Dmitry Medvedev, following tradition, invited members of the board to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum: “Undoubtedly, your participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum may also be extremely useful. The next Forum will be held on 6–8 June 2019,” he said.

Notably, in 2018, more than 17,000 participants from 143 countries visited SPIEF. Among them were representatives of business, various international structures, officials, experts, scientists, and journalists.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.


The Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC) was established in 1994 as a result of the combined efforts of the Government of the Russian Federation and foreign companies to improve the investment climate in Russia. The Council’s main task is to assist Russia in forming and promoting a favourable investment climate based on global expertise and the experience of international companies operating in Russia (www.fiac.ru).
