Mutual integration: Chinese entrepreneurs want to develop business in Russia

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and Zhou Liqun, Chairman of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Union in Russia, met in Moscow.

“The year 2024 is a landmark year for Russian-Chinese relations. We celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. In this regard, it is important to note the role of Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs in strengthening economic cooperation and creating favourable conditions for investment activity in our countries,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

The participants of the meeting discussed the development of business relations between the countries and the creation of instruments for the mutual promotion and informational support of entrepreneurial initiatives of Russia and China.

“Chinese companies are interested in further business development in Russia, despite the challenges Russia faces in international trade. The Chinese Entrepreneurs Union in Russia unites 4,000 members who make a significant contribution to the development of economic relations between Russia and China. Taking part in projects aimed at solving investment challenges creates a wide range of opportunities for both Russian and Chinese companies focused on establishing mutual contacts and entering joint markets,” emphasized Zhou Liqun, Chairman of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Union in Russia.

An important part of the meeting was the discussion about strengthening cooperation within the mechanisms developed by the governments of the two countries and the work of business missions at various business platforms. They discussed the participation of representatives of Chinese entrepreneurs in the events and projects of the Roscongress Foundation: the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum and the Caucasus Investment Forum. In recent years, the Foundation has paid special attention to strengthening ties between Russian business and foreign companies, primarily from China and other friendly countries interested in the Russian market.

The Foundation’s ecosystem of investment projects includes the Invest in Russia project and the International Centre for Joint Initiatives (ICJI), through which the Roscongress Foundation has already signed a number of cooperation agreements with Chinese companies and business organizations.
