Alexey Ivanchenko elected as President of Leaders' Club for the Promotion of Business Initiatives

The next President of the Leaders’ Club has been elected at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Alexey Ivanchenko, who has previously held executive positions at VEB.RF and Sberbank, was appointed to the role. Ivanchenko is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Rostelecom and a member of the Board of the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF).

The Club President is elected by member vote at a general meeting. Alexey Ivanchenko will be responsible for advancing the interests of the Leaders’ Club, engaging with young and ambitious entrepreneurs, expanding the Club’s presence not only in Russia’s regions but also abroad, and promoting business interests at the federal and regional levels.

“The Leaders’ Club has huge potential. Its key asset is people. The more people, the more opinions there are, and the stronger the organization and everyone involved in it becomes. It is through the exchange of unique experiences within the framework of the Club that people are able to quickly find solutions to a given problem in their business that might otherwise take years to overcome. If a communication channel is able to unlock the potential of the many entrepreneurs at the club and the quality of their experiences, while being properly digitalized, our entrepreneurs will be able to rely on the support of a community and their own business interests. This is our ambition for the near future,” Ivanchenko said.

According to Ivanchenko, the next stage in the Club’s development will also involve forging international alliances with business associations representing leaders in other countries in order to promote Russian goods for export.

“Next year, the Club will mark ten years since its founding. We will set ourselves even more ambitious tasks and create new tools to improve the business climate and promote entrepreneurship in our country in the run up to the anniversary. This year, we will also try to achieve the ambitious goal of establishing a presence for the Club in every Russian federal subject,” Ivanchenko said.

The Leaders’ Club represents entrepreneurs from 40 Russian regions. The Club’s members play an active role in initiatives to improve the investment climate in the country, monitor the roadmaps of the National Enterprise Initiative (NEI), and help to build effective communication between government and business.

The business initiative to create the Leaders’ Club received the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) on 3 February 2012.
