SPIEF 2021 SME Forum’s Plenary Session to Focus on Development of Digital Services for Business

SPIEF 2021 SME Forum’s Plenary Session to Focus on Development of Digital Services for Business

The 6th Russian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Forum will take place on 2 June, the opening day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The main theme of the SME Forum’s Plenary Session will be “Strategy for SME Development: Digital Services for Business”.

Developing digital technologies is currently one of the government’s top priorities. The national project ‘Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives’ calls for the creation of a unified digital ecosystem. The development of e-services has enabled the government to introduce more and more new products for entrepreneurs and citizens. Participants in the SME Forum’s Plenary Session will determine how convenient and important it is for entrepreneurs, particularly small ones, and whether their expenses on mandatory digital services can be compensated.

“The digitalization of our economy is in full swing. It is already difficult today for a business to imagine how to exist without the e-services that have been created, for example, by the Federal Tax Service. The Russian Ministry of Economic Development recently submitted a bill to the State Duma that will enable businesses and government bodies to convert documents into electronic form while preserving the full legal significance of the original. The national project to support SMEs calls for an increase in the number of digital services to 25 by 2024. It is crucial for business to understand the government’s strategy for the development of digital services, which we will discuss at the Plenary Session of the SME Forum,” OPORA RUSSIA President Alexander Kalinin said.

The event will also address issues concerning the role of digitalization in ‘whitewashing’ industries and present new approaches in tax administration and the services of the Russian Central Bank.

The SME Forum’s Plenary Session will be attended by: First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov; VEB.RF Chairman Igor Shuvalov; SME Corporation CEO and Chairman of the Management Board Alexander Isayevich; Russian Post CEO Maxim Akimov; Agency for Strategic Initiatives General Director Svetlana Chupsheva; Head of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation Daniil Yegorov; Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Management Board Anatoly Popov; First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Russia’s Tsentrosoyuz Sergei Gritsay; Softline Venture Partners CEO Yelena Volotovskaya; Logasoft CEO Alexei Logantsov; and OPORA RUSSIA Vice President Artem Artemyev. Moderator: OPORA RUSSIA President Alexander Kalinin.

Other officials who have been invited to participate in the SME Forum’s Plenary Session include: Head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina; Minister of Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev; and Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service Director Maxim Shaskolsky.
