First Russian–Iranian business forum to take place in Tehran
The Russia–Iran Business Forum will be held on December 13, 2016 in Iran’s capital, timed to coincide with the 13th session of the Russian–Iranian Permanent Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The Roscongress Foundation will act as organizer of the event. The business forum will take place with the support of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Energy, as well as the Russian Export Center, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov, such events have an important role in facilitating intergovernmental and business links between the two countries. “Both the Russia–Iran Business Forum and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia on June 1–3 , 2017, will provide effective platforms for networking and for establishing the direct contacts that are essential to building bilateral trade and economic relations and attracting foreign investment into the Russian economy,” Kobyakov said.
During the business forum events, Russian and Iranian officials and business representatives will discuss the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, support for Russian and Iranian business at the governmental level, strengthening ties between the two countries in industry and technology, and cooperation in the energy, agricultural, financial, and banking sectors.
