In the current realities of the global economy, there has been a significant increase in trade and financial turnover in the halal sphere. With the world economy becoming more integrated due to globalization, it is crucial for the Russian Federation to develop cooperation in the halal sector with the countries of the Islamic world for mutual benefit and to sustain the halal market for profitable trade. Russian agro-industrial products have substantial potential for expanding exports to member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), thereby broadening the range and geographical reach of product supplies. Compliance with the stringent requirements and criteria of halal, as well as the appropriate quality and labelling recognised by foreign buyers, is a critical factor in operating in OIC markets with a well-established halal industry. Graduated from the Economics Faculty of Moscow State University and completed postgraduate research at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 1999 through 2005: member of the Supervisory Council of the National Securities Market Association, of the expert council of the Financial Markets Committee under the State Duma of the Russian Federation. 2011 through 2015: held the position of Chairman of the Management Board of the National Association of Producers and Suppliers of Foodstuffs Rusprodsoyuz. June 2015: appointed head of the Autonomous Non-commercial Organization Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), set up by Russian Government Directive. Is an active participant in many expert organisations, in particular Open Government, Expert Council of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, working group of the Public Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on foodstuff quality, member of the Commission for Supervising the Code of Fair Practices. Married with three children.

Ruslan Ismailov joined Magnit as the Retail Chain Director on May 27, 2019. On June 4, 2019 he was appointed a Member of the Management Board.

Mr. Ismailov has over 15 years of experience in managing consumer companies.

He started his career in 2003 in Metro Cash&Carry retail chain, worked his way from a department manager to a hypermarket director. In 2009 Ruslan Ismailov held the position of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Mosmart multi-format retail chain. Prior to joining our company, Ruslan worked as a divisional director and headed the Supermarket format for 4 years.
