Consolidating Public Consciousness: Expanding Forms of Mutual Assistance through the Prism of Traditional Values

15 Jun , 17:00–18:15
Protecting the Population and Quality of Life as the Main Priority
Pavilion G, conference hall G4

Amid the unprecedented restrictions and anti-Russian actions by a number of unfriendly countries, it has become a vital prerequisite for Russian statehood to defend Russia’s own national interests aimed at protecting the sovereignty of the Russian Federation and preserving centuries-old traditional values. Unity, consolidation and mutual assistance have emerged as the key triggers of public awareness. Help and good deeds have now become a social demand. To be together means to be strong. The urge to help those in need has become a constant trend for non-profit organizations, educational institutions and small, medium-sized and big businesses. The desire to be involved and to contribute to the good of the country has become a driving factor in the Russian society. The elderly, people with limited mobility, former and current combatants, members of their families, and children without parental care all need support today. Some 19% of Russians are currently involved in volunteering. Is this enough? How can the uninvolved be involved? What are the trends in social project development today? Russia is facing the task of creating an infrastructure to support civic initiatives and help people in difficult life situations, actively involving NPOs and young people in this work. What will change in five years’ time? And what is the role of Russian business in creating a society based on respect?
