Festival Soul of Russia

Olga Parsova is a professional designer, creator and ambassador of the creative alliance "IkkiTaba".
Mikhail Sergeevich Barsov is a professional artist, ceramist, wood and bone carver.
As part of the creative alliance "IkkiTaba" (two deer in one team, Dolgan yaz.) develops and manufactures a line of amulets - "Koiko" (spirit), sets of author's ceramics with traditional ornaments of the indigenous peoples of the Taimyr Peninsula, creates sculptures from natural materials collected on the Putorana plateau and the banks of the Yenisei, paints paintings about the North and Taimyr shamanism.

The exhibition is dedicated to the culture, traditions and art of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. It features exhibits representing the richest collection of beads from the Museum of Nature and Man. The enchanting beauty of jewellery is reflected in the ornaments and patterns of Khanty and Mansi national costumes.

This is an exhibition of national costumes and musical instruments.

Next to the centres of industrial gas and oil extraction, right in the energy heart of Russia, live the fascinating northern people, the Nenets, just as they did centuries ago, maintaining their way of life and traditions. They heat their dwellings made of reindeer skins by fire and graze their herds of thousands of reindeer on the endless tundra. Here, the Nenets live without rush of modern cities.
They live in a real, honest world, where man does not conquer nature and does not cover everything with asphalt.

Handicrafts and craft works in leather, wood and bone will be on display.

Gennady Raishev is an Honoured Artist of Russia. He is a recognised leader of the national visual arts of indigenous peoples of Siberia, a “white shaman” possessing spiritual power and a visionary gift. In his work, he drew on the traditions of the folk art of the Ob-Ugrics, wonderfully conveying in his characteristic manner man’s uniqueness and depth, inextricably linked to the spirit of his ancestors and the environment.
Several reproductions of his works will be displayed.

The " People's Beauty. Russia - a deep image" national photo project consists of a whole series of photographic works dedicated to Russia’s indigenous peoples, assembled into an ethno calendar and exhibition. The culture of twelve peoples conveyed through the image of female beauty, reflecting national specifics with authentic atmosphere and costumes.

"Kuezeli", "tow", "pechkan" and "spinning wheel" are all names of the same ancient household item among the Sami, Karelians, Komi and Russians. The spinning wheel is passed down from generation to generation and is a cultural and historical value that connects us with our ancestors and traditional craft.

2. Master class on the manufacture of pendants in the technique of artistic processing of pine root
Anna Krasman has the honorary title of "People's Master of Russia". It is worth noting that root weaving is a complex, almost forgotten kind of craft today.

3. Master class on the manufacture of a keyring in the technique of traditional hand weaving
Hand patterned weaving has a long tradition. To weave a keyring, you will use a special device – a wooden birdo.

4. Master class on making a suspension from polymer clay "Cloudberry"
Cloudberry is a relative of blackberries and raspberries. Berries made of polymer clay are baked in a special oven and are very similar to the real ones!

'The Magic of Kamchatka' photo exhibition is an opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It features unique images of lost and hardly accessible places on the peninsula.
In a continuous shooting process, photographer Maxim Balakhovsky has created unique material that simply has to be shared – a selection of photographs covering more than 15 years of Snow Valley Mountain Lodge and Helipro company's history.
Here you can visit the peaks of active volcanoes and the Kuril Islands, imagine yourself amid glaciers, smoking geysers and bears walking freely around, while also enjoying the surreal, unbelievable scenery.

The master will tell you what types of fish live in Kamchatka, how indigenous small peoples get fish. He will tell you the process of preparing fish for sewing products, what additional materials are used in the manufacture of products: leather straps, beads. The audience will prepare their own bracelets made of fish skin and take them as a souvenir.

At the master class, participants will be able to choose and make any version of the doll they like - it can be a "bump doll", "twist doll", "berry doll" or an akan with fabric applique on fabric. The lesson is accompanied by fairy tales and legends.

Guests will be told about everyday life and culture, the musical world, traditional and modern clothing, the specifics of ethnic ornaments and symbols in jewelry, about the healing properties of horsehair products and about the traditional dwelling of the nomadic peoples of Yakutia, a tea ceremony will be held.

The guests of the festival participate in the traditional holidays of Zul and Tsagan Sar, learn their stories and traditions.

The guests of the festival will share the traditions of welcoming guests, talk about traditional clothes, the meaning of jewelry, the differences in the costume of an unmarried girl and a married one, as well as about the differences in the costumes of eastern and western Buryats. Everyone will be able to take photos in national costumes.

The guests of the festival will enjoy the program "Magic Chest": a story about the importance of games and toys in the upbringing of children, fairy tales using museum objects; solving traditional puzzles, board and floor games: a slit, a cunning fox, a castle, rope puzzles, a puzzle worth five horses.
