The President of the European Commission entrusted Mario Monti with a mission on A New Strategy on the Single Market released in May 2010 and was a member of the Reflection Group on the Future of Europe set up by the European Council. He served as a member of the European Commission, in charge of the Internal Market, Financial Services and Taxation (1995–1999) and then of Competition (1999–2004). In addition to decisions on landmark cases (among which GE/Honeywell, Microsoft, the German Landesbanken) he introduced radical reforms of EU antitrust and merger control and led, with the U.S. authorities, the creation of the International Competition Network (ICN). Prior to joining the Commission, he was professor of Economics and then rector of Bocconi. He had advisory roles in policy formulation in Italy (starting, in the 1980s, with financial reform and the first competition law), the UK (on Lord Roll’s Committee proposing independence for the Bank of England in 1993), and France (on the Attali Commission on economic growth, appointed by President Sarkozy in 2007). Mario Monti was elected European Chairman of the Trilateral Commission in 2010.

Mr. David Brennan, CEO of AstraZeneca, joined the IRT Council in June 2010. Till 2002 he worked as the member of Supreme Economic Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, served as Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning, First Vice-Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2002 to 2006 served as Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2006 to 2008 served as CEO of Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund (the state institutions of development). In January 2008 appointed as Head of Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, then since 2008 to 2011 - CEO of Sovereign Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC. Since April 2011 to January 2012 served as Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In January 2012 was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under Kelimbetov’s governance are the issues of macroeconomics, budget policy, governing of state companies and finance sector, tax and custom regulations and etc. Education: has graduated from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and Georgetown University (USA).

In January 2014, Anatoliy Chubais was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Managing Company LLC, which was set up within the scope of the OJSC RUSNANO Strategy up to 2020 envisaging division of management functions and possession of company assets. Since September 2008, Anatoly Chubais has headed state corporation Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies and, since it was transformed into an open joint-stock company in March 2011, had held the position of Chairman of the Executive Board of OAO RUSNANO. From 1998 to 2008, Anatoly Chubais headed up RAO UES of Russia. From 1997 through 1998 he was First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation and from 1996 through 1997 Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office. From 1992 to 1996 he was Deputy Prime Minister and then First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for economics and financial policy. From 1995 to 1996, Anatoly Chubais was the Russian Federation manager in the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. 1991–1994 saw him as Chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for management of state property, when he authored and co-ordinated the Russian privatisation programme. Earlier, in 1990–1991, he was Vice-Chairman and then First Vice-Chairman of the Leningrad Soviet executive committee.

Sechenov First Moscow Institute of Medicine. In 2002, he co-founded the Association of Russian Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers and led it until 2004. From 2004 to 2007, he was Deputy Director of Federal State-Owned Institution Research Center for Testing of Medical Applications under the Russian Service for Supervision of Healthcare. Ronald de Jong joined Philips in 1990. Over these years he has held a number of key management positions: he was in charge of Philips’ professional products and systems manufacturing in Germany, covered marketing and sales, supplies and service operations and managed supply chain in Europe. Such vast experience contributed to his understanding of market capabilities and helped him learn more about interacting with consumers. Following his role as Managing Director and Member of the Board of Philips Deutschland GmbH (with responsibility for bottom line in Germany, Austria and Switzerland) which he held from 2004, Ronald was appointed CEO Emerging Markets in 2008, and became a member of the Executive Team of Philips Healthcare. In 2011, Ronald was appointed Chief Market Leader and member of the Executive Committee in order to strengthen Philips’ focus on customers and markets. In 2012, Ronald de Jong became a member of the Supervisory Board of SNV, an international not-for-profit organization based in the Netherlands.

Mr Tapio Kuula is President and CEO of Fortum Corporation since May 2009. He joined Fortum in 1996 and has been a member of the Management Team since 1997. Tapio Kuula holds a Master's degree both in electrical engineering and economics. He is Dr.h.c. from Lappeenranta University of Technology. His earlier positions are within forest industry and managing director positions of several utility companies. He is the Chairman of the Board of OAO Fortum, Deputy Chairman of the Board of East Office of Finnish Industries, member of the Board of Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and member of the Board of EURELECTRIC. He is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Varma Mutual Insurance Company and member of the Supervisory Board of Finnish Fair Corporation. He is Co-chairman of Northern Dimension Business Council. He has been the Chairman/Vice Chairman of the Boards of several power and heat and distribution companies in Finland, Sweden, Russia, Germany and the UK.

Born in 1965, Alexey Mordashov has been working for Severstal since 1988. He started his career as a senior economist, becoming Chief Financial Officer in 1992. In December 1996, he was appointed as Severstal’s Chief Executive Officer. Between 2002 and 2006 he served as CEO of Severstal Group and was Chairman of Severstal’s Board of Directors. Since the introduction of the new structure of corporate governance in December 2006 Mr. Mordashov has been CEO of Severstal. From December 2014 till June 2015 Alexey served as CEO of AO "Severstal Management" - managing organization of PAO Severstal. In May he was elected as Chairman of Severstal’s Board of Directors.
