Programme

Shakespeare in music. A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

07 Jun , 19:00–21:00
Theatrical performances, concerts

A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed by St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra (Conductor: Sergei Stadler) is a romantic comedy and the most amorous of William Shakespeare’s plays. The reality becomes the most peculiar following the logic of dreams. The programme is built around the famous suite by Mendelssohn inspired by the magical world of fairies and elves. Masterpieces by Wagner and Mahler will become a special addition to the programme: although unrelated to the play, these works will help create the unforgettable atmosphere of a midsummer night.
