16 Jun, 10:30–11:30

In the current geopolitical conditions, India is pursuing an independent political and economic line, creating a unique opportunity to build investment, trade and economic cooperation with Russia at a whole new level. Today, the volume of trade between the countries is growing rapidly due to the exponential increase in deliveries to India of Russian energy commodities and fertilizers, as well as iron, steel and other goods, denoting the existing status of a highly privileged strategic partnership. Against the backdrop of increasing Russian exports, the countries are faced with the task of finding a new trade and economic balance that meets both their interests. Bilateral economic cooperation means that new ties need to be established and new, high-potential trade positions identified. Russian business owners are showing great interest in trends in the Indian market and expanding their knowledge of modern India’s changing needs and opportunities. Similar trends in relation to Russian markets are also gradually gaining strength within Indian business circles. Which main areas for cooperation in the economic sphere do the business community and politicians from both countries see? How can the necessary balance in bilateral trade be found? What measures should the governments of the two countries take to support the drive of business towards mutually beneficial cooperation?
