The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Treaty has come into force this year. The EAEU was founded by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, with Kyrgyzstan to join the union soon. The EAEU is the first integration association between countries of the former Soviet Union that is recognized by the global community. This next-generation integration-based cooperation format corresponds to the contemporary trend of global regionalization. How does the EAEU, in conjunction with other regional initiatives, promote economic integration and create new opportunities for its member states? Is a currency union of the EAEU an ambition or reality? What are the possible ways of strengthening cooperation between the EAEU and other regional economic associations? What is the view of trade partners on the EAEU?
