The demographic slump, the unstable macro-economic situation and the structural changes on the labour market are global challenges to the pension systems of all the developed countries, which today are seeking new recipes for sustainability. The aim is the same: long-term sustainability for the pension system and adequate pension provision. What will pensions be like in 30 years’ time, and what will tomorrow’s insurance contributions be like? Will Russia learn from the leading experience of foreign pension systems or will it take its own ‘special’ path?
