Russia and Italy to play a friendly match

A friendly football match between Russia and Italy will open the sporting programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. High-profile politicians, businessmen, and actors from both countries will take to the main field of the famous Petrovsky Stadium in St. Petersburg. The Russian team will be led by Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for FIFA World Cup 2018.

Participants may attend the event as spectators by invitations.

Peace Rally
Convention and Exhibition Centre EXPOFORUM
The international project ‘Peace Rally’ which will be held this year under the mottos ‘Russia and Europe Together’ and ‘Russia and the Western Countries Travel Along One Peacemaking Road’ will be included in the programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Rally will be held for the second time in a row and will start from Monte Carlo on 16 May. The first stage is scheduled to finish by 23 May at the SPIEF venue and the participants themselves will take an active part in the Forum.

Such rare collectible antique cars as Buick 1947 Roadmaster, Morgan 1973, Aston Martin DB2, Morgan Threewheeler, MG Racing 1969, Rolls Royce Corniche, Citroen 1922 will participate in the Peace Rally.

The second stage of the rally starts from St. Petersburg on May 26. The ceremonial finish is scheduled for June 2 in Monaco, where the rally participants will meet Prince Albert II.

The number of participants will increase at this stage as Russian businessmen join the drivers in retro and sport cars.

ROSCONGRESS CUP. Gala hockey match ‘Forum Team – St. Petersburg Government Team’
Yubileyny Sports Palace 18, pr. Dobrolyubova, St. Petersburg
Gala hockey matches have become a sports traditions of economic forums. Representatives of the political and business elite will take the ice in St. Petersburg. All participants in the match will receive commemorative medals, but the main reward for them will be vivid emotions and an energy boost for the Forum’s business programme.

‘Heart to Heart’ charitable football match and gala concert
Izhorets Sports and Recreation Complex in the Kolpinsky District, 27, Tverskaya Ulitsa, Kolpino
A team of national politicians, entrepreneurs, and artists will take on the St. Petersburg united team.

The city of military glory Kolpino will host an amateur match between some of Russia’s best entertainers, forwards from national football teams, politicians as well as law enforcement representatives as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum sporting programme. The event will feature interactive entertainment venues and tastings of various national cuisines and conclude with a performance by Russian pop stars.

‘Heart to Heart’ charitable matches and concerts raise millions each year to provide medical aid to those in need. This event will help sick children from St. Petersburg and Kolpino families.

One of the most exciting events of the SPIEF 2018 sports programme will be a basketball match for the Roscongress Foundation Cup between the Forum Team and the St. Petersburg Government Team, which is comprised of politicians, business leaders, and prominent athletes. Regardless of the outcome of the match, the participants are guaranteed to be in good spirits and make new business contacts.

Friendly match between the women’s national teams of Russia and France on sabre fencing
Russian Museum of Ethnography, 4/1, Inzhenernaya Ulitsa, St. Petersburg
The Marble Hall, the main exhibition hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, will host the event. Friendly match will be held in the form of a team tournament of nine bouts. Two-time Olympic gold medallist Yana Yegorian will captain the Russian team. Sofya Velikaya and Yuliya Gavrilova, 2016 Olympic team events champions, and the European Championship medallist Svetlana Sheveleva are also on the team roster. Manon Brunet, Charlotte Lembach and Cecilia Berder, 2017 World Fencing Championship medallists, as well as Sara Balzer will represent the national team of France. Pavel Kolobkov, Minister of Sport, will open the tournament. The Marble Hall, the central exhibition hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, will turn into the arena for the match between the world’s top sabre fencers. The day before, on 23 May, the leaders of the Russian national team will host a master-class for young fencers in St. Petersburg.

A return match between the female athletes of Russia and France will be held in Paris in November this year within the framework of International Fencing Federation Congress (FIE).

Krestovsky Island, St. Petersburg
The Roscongress Cup. SPIEF Race 2018, which is part of the SPIEF sporting programme, will take place on Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg. Forum participants, as well as residents and guests of St. Petersburg, will have an opportunity to run a distance of 5,000 metres.

The run is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Triathlon Federation.

For the first time an open squash tournament will be held as part of the SPIEF 2018 sporting programme. The tournament will be hosted by St. Petersburg’s largest squash club, the PRO Sports Centre.At present, squash is experiencing a real boom the whole world over.
The game has the power to give one a long lasting energy boost and carries with it a charge of positive, creative energy. The excitement and thrill of the game have the power to fill your everyday routine with new sensations. Squash is a good fit for people of all different ages and degrees of physical fitness.
Representatives of the political and business elite will meet up in exciting clashes on the court. As a part of the tournament there will also be master classes and demonstration matches put on by the stars of squash.

ROSCONGRESS CUP. SPIEF 2018 International Golf Tournament
Peterhof Golf Club Peterhof, Gofmeysterskaya ul., d. 1
The tournament is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Golf Association of Russia. The competition will be hosted by the Peterhof Golf Club, located 25 minutes from Pulkovo International Airport and just a few minutes from Peterhof’s famous fountains, the Konstantinovsky Palace, and Alexandria Park. The strategic and panoramic components of the 18-hole golf course were built by renowned architects Greg Norman and Steve Forest, which guarantees that it is an exciting golf course for players of all levels.

SPIEF Premium package participants who have a confirmed ‘home country’ handicap can take part in the tournament. A Peterhof Golf Club team will lead group lessons with a subsequent mini-tournament for Forum participants who want to get an introduction to golf and pick up the club for the first time.

The White Nights tennis tournament, a SPIEF tradition, will take place this year on the courts of the new Razliv sports complex, which recently opened on the shore of Lake Razliv. The tournament will feature doubles matches in a round-robin system with a semi-final and final round.

St. Petersburg Corporate Games

The St. Petersburg Corporate Games will feature a fascinating rivalry between the teams of leading companies and the state authorities of the northern capital and the Leningrad Region. More than 700 employees from state institutions and commercial enterprises will take part in tournaments in 15 sports, including team sports (futsal, volleyball, basketball, tennis, darts, badminton) and intellectual sports (checkers, chess, backgammon) as well as arm-wrestling and weightlifting sports. The St. Petersburg Corporate Games are part of the Unified Calendar Plan of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. The main goals of the project are to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle, establish new business and friendly contacts, and team-building.

Ladoga Trophy Raid start ceremony
St. Isaac’s Square
The Ladoga Trophy is one of the world’s biggest 4×4 adventures on difficult-to-pass areas, off-road, all-wheel drive cars, special off-road motorcycles, and ATVs.

The grand opening of the competition and the start of the trophy raid will take place in the heart of St. Petersburg, on St. Isaac’s Square. Per tradition, this major event is part of the programme for City Day celebrations and the sports programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

For the first time in history, the European Championships in Motor Sports Tourism on off-road vehicles will be organized as part of the race.

Each year, over 250 crews from all over Russia and Europe attend the start. Over the course of 8 days, participants and spectators can expect to take an exciting journey through the expanses of Karelia and the Leningrad Region. The length of the route is 1200 kilometres, including about 200 kilometres of special sections.

Leningrad Retro Rally
Europe Square
The Leningrad Retro Rally in St. Petersburg will kick off this year’s most prestigious series of competitions for regular classic car traffic – the 2018 Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) Retro Rally Cup.

The northern capital will host a competition for owners of classic cars of this level for the first time. The race will kick off in the very heart of the city on the last day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Participants will travel more than 200 km along some of the most picturesque roads of St. Petersburg and its famous suburbs: Peterhof, Lomonosov, and Kronstadt.

Depriving the rally participants of the opportunity to get to know the city on the Neva better would be simply wrong. So this time the rally will be held in a two-day format: on Saturday, 26 May, the retro rally component of the RAF Cup will kick off, while on Sunday, on the anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg, we will visit the city’s most interesting and significant historical and cultural monuments.
