Michael is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ONE. Prior to joining ONE, Michael Elliott served as editor of TIME International, Deputy Managing Editor of TIME Magazine, and was also a columnist on the global economy for Fortune magazine. Elliott was named editor of TIME International in April 2005 after spending a year as editor of TIME Asia. He joined TIME in May 2001 as an editor-at-large after a year spent as editor-in-chief of eCountries, an Internet-based news and analysis service on global affairs. From 1995-2000 he was editor of Newsweek International, and from 1984-93 he was on the staff of The Economist, where he was political editor and Washington bureau chief and the founding author of both the “Bagehot” and “Lexington” columns. Elliott was born and raised in the suburbs of Liverpool, England, and took two degrees at Oxford University. Prior to his career in journalism, he was a member of the Central Policy Review Staff in Britain’s Cabinet Office, and before that spent eight years teaching in universities in the United States and United Kingdom, ending his academic career with a tenured position at the London School of Economics.

Ruben Vardanyan, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist, is Advisor to the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sberbank of Russia. Prior to the merger with Sberbank in January 2012, he served as CEO, Chairman of the board at Troika Dialog, one of the oldest and largest investment banks in Russia and the CIS. Mr. Vardanyan is a Board member at AvtoVAZ, KAMAZ, SIBUR, Joule Unlimited, Inc (U.S.), Rosgosstrakh, and AmeriaBank (Armenia). He is a member of the Economic Advisory Board at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Mr. Vardanyan is a member of the Investment Committee of Avica Property Investors International. He was Chairman of the board at Sukhoi Civil Aircraft from 2005-2009 and Chairman of the board at Rosgosstrakh from 2004-2005 and from August 2011 through October 2013. Mr. Vardanyan is a member of the Presidential Council for National Priority Projects, a Founding Partner of the SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management and Vice-Chairman of its International Advisory Board. He also chairs the school’s Institute for Emerging Market Studies and oversees its Wealth Management and Philanthropy Center. Mr. Vardanyan is a member of the International Advisory Boards of the International Christian University (Japan) and Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC, Brazil). He is also a member of the Supreme Religious Council of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Mr. Vardanyan graduated from the Moscow State University. His post-graduate resume includes training at different international institutes and schools including INSEAD, the Harvard Business School, Yale University and Stanford.

In 1994 Jurgen began research as the coordinator on “Sport and Local Development and Eradication of Poverty” at the universities of Cologne and Medellín and wrote his Master thesis on the subject of “contemporary social problems.” He started his first organization, Football for Peace, in one of the most dangerous and violent cities at the time, Medellín. After Football for Peace, Jürgen further developed his successful approach for a different context and framework in Germany. In 2002, he decided to dedicate himself to overcoming the structural challenges he had witnessed during his two first endeavors: The lack of a globally integrated and recognized field of football for social change. He founded streetfootballworld in 2002. Jurgen has been consultant to German International Cooperation (GIZ) and with streetfootballworld on social legacy policies for the UEFA EURO 2008 and 2012, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup as well as for a 10 year strategy (2013-2022) for the Asian Football Confederation. He has been awarded the “Order of Merit” for Football for Peace’s contribution to social change in Medellín by the President of Colombia in 2002, received the Laureus Sport for Good Award (known as “Oscars” in Sport), Barcelona 2006, and the FIFA Fair Play Award, Berlin 2006, Member of FIFA’s Committee for Fair Play and Social Responsibility (2008-2011) and of the Advisory Panel of Beyond Sport since 2010 and Synergos Senior Leadership Fellow 2012.

Oleg Deripaska was appointed as RUSAL’s President in November 2014. He oversees new development strategies for the Company. Since January 2009 Oleg Deripaska was Chief Executive Officer of UC RUSAL. In 1997, Mr Deripaska, then Director General of the Sayanogorsk aluminium smelter, created Russia’s first vertically integrated company – Siberian Aluminium (in 2001 renamed Basic Element) that later incorporated a number of Russia’s leading aluminium production facilities. In 2000, Siberian Aluminium became one of the world’s top ten aluminium producers.. Between 2000 and 2003, Mr Deripaska was Director General of RUSAL, which was created through the merger of Siberian Aluminium and Sibneft’s aluminium and alumina assets. In 2007, Russia’s RUSAL and SUAL and Swiss Glencore merged to create United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium. In 2009, the year of global economic recession, Oleg Deripaska once again stepped in to head up RUSAL. Mr Deripaska graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Physics Department of Moscow State University and later received a degree from the Plekhanov Academy of Economics. Oleg Deripaska is Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Russian National Committee and a member of the Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship Council which is a Russian Government Agency. He also serves on the Boards of Trustees of the National Science Support Foundation, the Bolshoi Theatre and the Schools of Business Administration of the Moscow and St. Petersburg State Universities. In 2004, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin appointed Oleg Deripaska as Russia’s Representative in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council. In 2007, he was appointed Chairman of the Council’s Branch in Russia. In 1999, Mr Deripaska was awarded with the Order of Friendship. In 1999, 2006 and 2007 he was named «Businessman of the Year» by the Russian leading business daily Vedomosti. He was also named the Industry Ambassador of the Year at 2013 Metal Bulletin Global Aluminium Award for Excellence.

Alexey Kudrin is currently Dean of School of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St. Petersburg State University. Since May 2000 till September 2011 he served as Finance Minister of Russia. His financial policies received international recognition; he was named "Finance Minister of the Year 2004" by The Banker magazine and "Finance Minister of the Year 2010" by Euromoney magazine. In years 2000-2003 and 2008-2011 Alexei Kudrin also held the post of Deputy Prime-Minister. In 2005 he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.Before joining the government, Alexei Kudrin worked for Saint-Petersburg City government, holding positions of Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg and Chairman of the Committee for Economy and Finances.Alexei Kudrin has academic degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD in Economics). He is professor, author of more than 30 research papers and articles on economics and finance, delivering lectures in many universities and colleges around the globe and providing his expertise to the government of Russia.

Lenka joined Coutts in 2011, bringing over 15 years of experience working in the fields of philanthropy and international development. Her career began in Central and Eastern Europe working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office/Overseas Development Agency at the British Embassy in Prague where she oversaw the British government’s bi-lateral technical assistance programme for the Czech Republic. Lenka then joined the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, a private American Foundation, where she was responsible for developing the grants portfolio in Romania and Bulgaria, focusing on issues such as citizen participation, social cohesion and philanthropy development. Since relocating back to the UK, Lenka has worked as a Grants Officer with the Tudor Trust, one of the UK’s largest family foundations, and as a Research Analyst at New Philanthropy Capital where she produced guides on effective philanthropy and advised the strategic development of a new corporate foundation established by a boutique investment firm. Prior to joining Coutts Lenka was a Director at the Carnegie UK Trust, leading the Democracy and Civil Society Programme and an independent Commission of Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society in the UK and Ireland. Lenka has been a trustee of a number of UK and international charitable organisations and foundations. She holds a BA (Hons) in Contemporary East European Studies from the University of London, an MBA and an MSc in Development Management, and is currently studying for a Certificate in Responsible Investment.
