In line with the goals and principles set out by the Deauville Partnership between the G8 and Arab partners, Russia has implemented a number of political, economic, social, humanitarian, and legal steps in support of economic growth of Arab countries – particularly with Russia’s longstanding partners in the region. What more should be done by both the public and private sectors to further foster mutual trade and investment?

Sergey Katyrin

President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

Born on October 2, 1954 in Moscow. Graduated from the Moscow Car and Road Construction Institute and the International Business School of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Took an active part in establishing and developing the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, which held its founding Congress on October 19, 1991. At the 7th congress in March 2016, he was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation for a second term. The range of Sergei Katyrin's activities as President of CCI Russia includes effective coordination within the national network of chambers of commerce and industry of Russia, which incorporates territorial chambers of commerce and industry, associations and business unions. Establishment of productive cooperation with legislative assemblies and executive authorities at both national and regional levels constitutes yet another area of his daily concern. Sergei Katyrin represents Russia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry in major business unions where he is among the board members. He is a member of the working group for joint anti-corruption measures of representatives of the business community and government authorities under the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Counteracting Corruption and takes part in meetings of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Counteracting Corruption. He sits on the government's Commission for Development of Small and Medium-sized Businesses and is a member of the Public Council for Development of Small and Medium-sized Businesses, which works under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly. At the same time, Sergei Katyrin fulfils functions related to the international activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, being Chairman of the Russian chapter of the BRICS Business Council and Chairman of the Russian National Branch of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Council. In addition, he is a member of the Committee of the Chief Executives of CIS Chambers of Commerce and Industry. During the term of Sergei Katyrin’s presidency, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business.

Born in 1946 in Moscow. Alexander Saltanov graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR with a degree in International Relations. In 1970, he entered the diplomatic service. From 2001 to 2011, he was Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In June 2011, he was appointed Vice-President of Russian Railways.

Petr Fradkov was born on February 7, 1978 in Moscow.In 2000, he graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Russian Foreign Ministry majoring in world economics. In 2007, he graduated from Kingston Business School of Kingston of Kingston University majoring in Master Business Administration, the Academy of National Economy under the Russian Government majoring in Master of Business Administration.Ph.D in economics. In 2000-2004 – expert of the first category, Vnesheconombank’s Deputy Representative in the United States of America, Department Head of Vnesheconombank of the USSR. In 2004-2005 – Deputy Director General of the Far East Shipping Company (OJSC). In 2005-2007 – Deputy Director of Directorate - Department Head, First Deputy Director of Vnesheconombank of the USSR Directorate.From June of 2007 – Board Member of State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’, Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman.From October of 2011 – Board Chairman-Director General of OJSC EXIAR, Board Member of State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’. From December of 2012 to December of 2014 – Board Chairman- Director General of OJSC EXIAR.From December of 2014 - First Deputy Chairman of State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’. Bader M. Al-Sa’ad

Member of the Board of Directors, Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA)

Bader M. Al-Sa’ad was appointed on the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) on December 1st, 2003. December 10th, 2003, he was appointed as the Managing Director of KIA (the Chief Executive Officer). He is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of KIA. Mr. Al Sa’ad has extensive experience in investments and financial sector for the past 35 years. Previous to his appointment as the Managing Director of KIA, he was the Managing Director of one of the leading investment company in Kuwait, The Kuwait Financial Center (“Markaz”). He also has extensive experience in various positions at the Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East. Mr. Al Sa’ad has been a member of various Boards of Directors encompassing numerous domestic and international companies, financial institutions and banks. He has also been the Chairman as well as member of various professional organizations and committees. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and of Bank of America’s Global Advisory Council. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Al Sa’ad is a graduate of Kuwait University with a major in Accounting.

Konstantin Ryzhkov

Director, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF)

Prior to joining RDIF, Konstantin was managing director and advisor to the president of International Investment Bank (IIB). He has more than 16 years of investment and merchant banking experience in Russia, USA, UK, Mongolia, Vietnam and Eastern Europe. Prior to IIB he was responsible for developing merchant banking business to the largest in the CIS at VTB. Konstantin started his career as an investment banker at NationsBanc Securities and Banc of America Securities (USA). He graduated from Davidson College (USA).
